Jenny finally had her Pool play date that she had been planning for months. Armed with our guest passes, she met four other mothers and their children at our pool for an afternoon of fun and frivolity.
Understanding what make kids happy (by observing my own), I suggested that Jens buy snow cones for the whole gang. For only 6 dollars (75 cents a cone) she could raise the fun quotient immeasurably. She embraced the idea and wisely did not ask what flavors they wanted. She went to the snack bar and ordered 8 cones with colors from the entire spectrum of the rainbow. They gave her the tray and she walked over to the gang; as soon as they realized what she was doing, she was greeted as a conquering hero.
